Workshop: Arguing against Racism and Antifeminism - Lisa Bendiek

25.05.22, 10-17:30The current right-wing tendencies in German society are a big challenge for the goal of inclusion. How can we deal with right-wing populism and its arguments at the university? How can we spot and counter racist or antifeminist postitions in the university classroom? In this one-day presence workshop, we will look for ways to refute right-wing talking points with determination and facts. We will address widespread right-wing narratives, as well as attacks on critical theory and possible strategies to handle these situations. Together, we will deconstruct antifeminist and racist arguments and express our own positions. Practical exercises will give each participant the chance to try out which one will be most suitable for their unique situations (like teaching or socialising with peers). The workshop is part of the  "Public Anthropology Talks" and is organised by the Lehrstuhl Ethnologie and the research group "Anthropology of Global Inequalities".
